In Kiev, many civilians are preparing to defend the city from Russian attacks together with the Ukrainian army. Most are former lawyers, managers or drivers with no military experience who have returned to Ukraine to fight after sending their families to Europe. They are the Ukrainian resistance. As they wait for war, they prepare, dig trenches and build barricades at various points in the capital. "How long have we been under the yoke of Moscow? Almost four hundred years. We have to get rid of these troublemakers once and for all. That's our motivation," says a Ukrainian volunteer ready to fight the war. They are aware that it will be complicated, but they are positive and confident in Ukraine's victory, they assure that they will not give up. "We have a nation that always stands up in difficult times," he adds.
