United States kills Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani in bombing in Baghdad airport

The Pentagon issued a statement saying that the United States ordered an air strike that killed Qassem Suleimani (written Qasem Soleimani elsewhere), the commander of the Quds Force of Iran; and also to Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, a senior agent of Iraq's paramilitary forces, at Baghdad International Airport. According to information from the Pentagon, the operation was executed on the orders of President Donald Trump. Some US officials, mainly from the Democratic Party, have expressed concern that they say these actions would have been carried out without authorization from Congress
