Dog rescued from drainage after 5 days stuck underground

Metanews: A dog has been rescued from a drainage pipe after being trapped underground for five days. Lulu, the Jack Russell Terrier, ran into the drain while out for a walk with her owner in Dorney, Buckinghamshire, but could not get out again as rubble blocked her exit. Gina Kaiser was stuck for a solution but ended up hiring a JCB to try and dig into a car park to try and reach her pet. Local firefighters then came to her aid and used the digger and cutting equipment to dig through eight feet of concrete and a steel pipe. All that took six hours. One of the firefighters then crawled into the pipe and grabbed Lulu. She had had to survive on just a trickle of water while underground but is now doing a lot better.
