Mexican government asks Levi's for explanations for the use of indigenous images on its clothes
by Pa-paleta
The Mexican government is requesting explanations from the U.S. textile manufacturer Levi Strauss for the use of indigenous images on its garments. The authorities denounce that the company does not comply with the law that protects this type of cultural symbols. Precisely, they accuse Levi's of cutting out the designs and applying them to industrial clothing without consent, without naming the community to which it refers and without any type of retribution.
