The Hawaiian volcano of Kilauea has been active for a month now expelling a large amount of magma and, however, has not claimed the life of any inhabitant of the area. Meanwhile, the recent eruption of the Volcán de Fuego in Guatemala has already left 70 people dead. How is this difference explained in the level of human harm caused by both phenomena? The answer is related to the type of material expelled to the surface in each case, informs the Mashable portal.
