Why have so many presidents fallen in #Peru?

A new political crisis is shaking Peru, which in four years has had three presidents: on November 9, Congress dismissed Martin Vizcarra as president of Peru after a motion for a vacancy was approved on the grounds of "moral incapacity. The initiative was prompted by allegations of corruption against the former president for alleged events during his time as governor of the southern region of Moquegua (2011-2014). Manuel Merino, who was the president of the Congress, assumed the presidency this Tuesday, November 10. "It is a very difficult moment for the country, today the population looks at us with expectation but at the same time with a lot of concern It is undeniable that we are going through a crisis," said Merino upon taking office. Merino, a businessman and member of the center-right Popular Action party, will serve as interim president until July, after the elections already scheduled for April 11. Meanwhile, thousands of demonstrators took to the streets to protest Vizcarra's removal from office in Lima, the capital, assuring that Merino does not represent them. Many criticized the actions of the legislators who removed Vizcarra because they think that now the country should focus on solving the serious economic and health crisis it faces because of the coronavirus pandemic. With almost 1 million people infected with the virus and more than 35 thousand deaths, Peru is the country with the highest number of deaths per capita from coronavirus in the world. In the last 4 years Peru has had 3 presidents and the last 6 leaders have been involved in corruption scandals.
