Police officer attacked by crowd while investigating street takeover in Connecticut

A Connecticut police officer was punched and his patrol car damaged while investigating a street takeover on Saturday, December 9, police said. The officer with the Milford Police Department responded to a report of a street takeover at the parking lot of a Stop & Shop in Milford. He arrived to find several cars and over 100 people gathered, police said. While investigating a small fire caused by M-80 firecrackers and other fireworks, he was “hit, punched, and had an unknown object thrown at his head,” police said.
