The president of Argentina, Javier Milei, announced that he has decided to devalue his country's currency by more than 50%. According to the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, the exchange rate will be set at 800 pesos per dollar; the measure was approved with the intention of combating the fiscal deficit, as well as the high levels of inflation and the risk of hyperinflation in the country.
