A photograph shows Iranian teenager Armita Geravand hospitalized in an Air Force health center in Tehran, Iran, which is heavily guarded by Islamic Republic agents. The 16-year-old is in serious condition after an alleged altercation with authorities over her refusal to wear the mandatory hijab caused her to fall and hit her head on an iron bar in a subway station. Maryam Lotfi, an Iranian journalist with Shargh Daily, was arrested Monday for reporting the teenager's story. For their part, Iranian authorities deny wrongdoing and stated that the girl's loss of consciousness was caused by a "sudden drop in blood pressure." It rejected claims of any altercation between the staff and the young girl.
