Man Facing Fines After Cutting Down Neighbor’s Trees

When Samih Shinway came home from work he heard chainsaws in the woodsy backyard behind his New Jersey house. The homeowner found 40 downed trees and confronted the work crew. According to court documents, his neighbor allegedly hired the crew. Shinway says his neighbor, Grant Haber, just wanted a better view. Although Haber is facing fines of $32,000, he may actually have to replant the forest, which is estimated to cost $1.5 million.
