Former Mexican President Carlos Salinas de Gortari is also already, since last year, a Spanish citizen, having obtained nationality through the Sephardic route that benefits all those whose Jewish ancestors were expelled from the Iberian Peninsula in the 15th century, according to a law passed in 2015 and who settled in our country, particularly in the state of Nuevo Leon.
