Myanmar junta reportedly breaks ceasefire with armed militia
by Noti.Mexico
The ruling military junta in Myanmar reportedly broke a ceasefire deal when it clashed with armed opposition forces along the border of Bangladesh on August 31, 2022. The tensions are a sign the junta is losing its grip on power, according to the Special Advisory Council for Myanmar, which is led by former UN human rights experts. In its report, the council said the junta has been unable to provide basic services and security for its citizens, and has been inflicting violence on hundreds of villages across the country.
