Ceasefire in Sudan
Due to "humanitarian reasons", the country's army and the paramilitary group FAR agreed to pause the fighting. At least 56 civilians have been killed during the fighting. Hostilities have centered around the capital, Khartoum, but are also taking place in other cities across the country. Both sides claim to be in control of the government. The presidents of Egypt, Abdelfatah al Sisi, and South Sudan, Salva Kiir, today expressed their willingness to mediate to end the violence.
