#UKRAINE: How REFUGEES are FLEEING through LEOPOLIS to POLAND

The war in Ukraine has triggered a flight movement of the Ukrainian population which, according to the UN, may lead to four million people seeking refuge outside the country to escape the Russian invasion. Since February 24, more than 2.1 million people have left the country, according to the latest data from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), provided on a portal it has launched to report on this humanitarian crisis. Half of the expatriates are heading to Poland, which has already received nearly 1.3 million refugees, but hundreds of thousands have also crossed the borders of Moldova, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia. UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi said the refugee crisis in Ukraine is the fastest growing since World War II, a conflict that generated the flight from their countries of between 11 and 20 million people. "I have worked on refugee crises for almost 40 years and rarely have I seen such an incredibly rapid exodus of people," he claimed a few days ago.
