Netherlands reports that omicron was present in the country before it was detected in South Africa

Health authorities in the Netherlands report that the omicron variant of the coronavirus was already present in the country days before the first case was detected in South Africa. The mutation was circulating on Dutch territory between November 19 and 23, so it did not arrive with passengers on recent flights from African countries.
