Woman Shot & Killed: Runs at Georgia Officer with Knife

A woman who charged at a police officer while holding a knife was shot dead in Oconee County Monday. 40-year-old Julia Anne Moss, of Athens, was killed at 11:03am at a home on Creek View Court in a neighborhood located near the intersection of U.S. Highway 441 and White Oak Road, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said in a statement released late Monday. The GBI reported that deputies responded to a 911 call from a man who claimed a woman inside the residence had stabbed a dog and hit the man in the head with a pipe, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office. A second man in the house had barricaded himself in another bedroom to avoid Moss, according to the report.
