Catholic Bishop Shot and Killed in California

The Catholic community in southern California held a vigil to pray for a Bishop David O'Connell, who was shot to death. David O'Connell, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, worked for the church in the Los Angeles area for more than 45 years. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the shooting happened at around 1 p.m. in the Hacienda Heights neighborhood. O’Connell was a native of Ireland. He was 69 years old.
