UK orders 90 million coronavirus vaccines as new treatment sees success

The UK has ordered over 90 million doses of promising coronavirus vaccines from around the world. The government has signed deals with companies BioNtech, Pfizer and Valneva who are all developing vaccines for COVID-19. Oxford University also is working on its own vaccine with 100 million doses being developed with AstraZeneca. The head of the UK’s vaccine task force has warned that the Oxford vaccine may not be ready until the end of the year, contradicting earlier reports that it may be available to distribute by autumn.
