Elon Musk says he did not accuse the child rescuer of the cave in Thailand of pedophilia

The founder of Tesla, Elon Musk, maintains that he never accused the British diver Vernon Unsworth of pedophilia, who last year participated in the rescue operation of children trapped in a cave in Thailand, and who sued him for defamation after the publication of Several tweets with offensive messages. Through his lawyers, the magnate requests that the legal action against him be dismissed, since he considers that his message was misunderstood, reports Reuters. Musk states that "pedo guy" ("pedophile boy" in Spanish) was "a common insult used in South Africa as a child" and that he did not intend to defame Unsworth. The billionaire pointed out that the expression used was synonymous with "creepy old man" and used to refer to the appearance and behavior of a person. Later, in two emails sent to journalists from BuzzFeed News in August 2018, Musk lashed out again against the British diver, calling him a "child rapist." For his part, Lucian Lin Wood, Unsworth's lawyer, said he will respond to Musk's legal presentation on the controversial tweet in three weeks. "I will keep my gunpowder dry for now, but I can assure you it will be explosive," the lawyer warned. Meanwhile, Musk's defense argues that the tycoon's messages were mere insults, but not accusations.
