Roseanne Blames Ambien For Her Racist Tweet

The star of the now canceled sitcom “Roseanne” blamed Ambien use for her racist tweet on Tuesday. The show was canceled after Barr sent a tweet comparing Valerie Jarrett, a former adviser to President Barack Obama, to an ape. Barr wrote in a now deleted tweet, “Not giving excuses for what I did (tweeted) but I've done weird stuff while on ambien-cracked eggs on the wall at 2am etc." Pharmaceutical giant Sanofi, the maker of Ambien hit back. Ambien, which is used to treat insomnia, does have side effects. But none of them could directly lead to racist tweeting.
