California on the verge of becoming Sanctuary for Immigrants

The California Senate on Monday passed Senate bill SB54, urged by Sen. Kevin de Leon, a Democrat, who is seeking to convert the state into a sanctuary state. The proposal called the California Securities Act was approved by the local Senate with 27 votes in favor and 12 against. Now the measure will have to be approved by the lower house, to be taken to the Governor, Jerry Brown, to become law. SB 54 seeks to prohibit state and local police from arresting or detaining and investigating people for immigration violations unless a judge issues an order, as well as prohibiting the use of state and municipal resources to assist the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Customs in migratory tasks. In addition to Bill SB54, California Senators addressed two other initiatives against the president's immigration policies. The SB6 proposal, which would provide $ 12 million for the payment of lawyers representing immigrants facing deportation, and the SB31 proposal, would prohibit state officials from sharing data should the federal government create a record of Muslims. We're trying to make our communities safer and smart about it, it's not rhetoric or swagger, said Senate President Kevin De Leon. Our limited law enforcement resources are wasted when police officers are removed from their duties to arrest waitresses, students, garroteros, and day laborers who adhere to the laws. Undocumented residents will not report crimes for fear of deportation and criminals will roam freely to victimize others, "De León added.
