Miley Cyrus Speaks Out About 2013 VMA Performance

Miley Cyrus is ending her silence and finally speaking out to address the backlash she received following her recent VMA performance with Robin Thicke. In an interview with MTV, Miley said this -- "I don't pay attention to the negative because I've seen this paly out so many -- how many times have we seen this play out in pop music?" The singer went on to note Madonna and Britney Spears as prime examples, and Miley implied that with this sort of performance, "you're wanting to make history." She even added that she and Robin Thicke talked about the fact that they were going to make history before they even hit the stage. Then in her last words, Miley pointed out the fact that people are still talking about it and over-thinking about it...more than she says she even thought about it while she was doing it. So now that some time has passed and the initial shock (for some of you at least) has worn off, what do you think about Miley really shaking things up at the VMAs this year? Music veteran Justin Timberlake spoke out about Miley performance to encourage people to QUOTE "let her do her thing," and he reminded people that "this is not an uncommon thing."
