Benedict XVI announces his retirement and Ray falls in the Basilica of St Peter
This morning Pope Benedict XVI announced his retirement on February 28, and suddenly, lightning struck the St. Peter's Basilica today, the same day that the Pope announced his abdication, in Vatican City. The image surprisingly coincide with the official announcement of Pope Benedict XVI in which he reported that his "advanced age" renunciation of the papacy. The waiver decision of Joseph Ratzinger Aloisius took by surprise the Vatican itself, and it investigates the candidates to replace him. The Vatican offered a farewell to Benedict XVI before he ends his pontificate, scheduled for February 28 next, which faithful expected to attend from around the world "and authorities in many countries." According to Terra, an Italian photographer named Alessandro Di Meo, captured the moment a lightning impacted the dome of St. Peter's Basilica.
