Donna Summer dies at 63

The American singer Donna Summer, known as the queen of disco, died this morning in Florida at 63 years old, victim of cancer, as reported by the website TMZ. LaDonna Adrian Gaines, his real name, was born on December 31, 1948 in Boston. During his childhood he sang in the choir of a church and adolescence was part of some groups, including rock, but in the 70 and 80 when they became famous as an interpreter of disco. In her career she won five Grammy Awards. Among his best known songs are I Feel Love and Last Dance. In 1974 he released his first album, Lady of the Night, followed Love to Love You Baby (1975), A Love Trilogy and Four Seasons of Love (both 1976). It was with Love To Love You Baby which generated a stir in its time, since the song was overtly sexual content. As Summer was a reserved person, at first agreed to the request of moaning while playing the theme, but years later the record stated that he imagined it was Marilyn Monroe in sexual ecstasy, which was a very sexy song. I Remember Yesterday and Once Upon a Time was published in 1977. In 1978 he released his hit Last Dance, which won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for best song, as featured in the film Thank God It's Friday. Bad Girls launched in 1979, since then his career took a break and went until 1991 when she became an album called Mistaken Identity. A couple of years later he published an anthology, and in 1994 presented a Christmas album and Endless Summer. In 1996 he released I'm a rainbow and three years later Live & More Encore!.
