Arrested chef of Los Pelochos member of drug mexican cartel in Nayart

The Nayarit Attorney General's Office has announced the capture of the leader of the "Los Pelochos" gang, a branch of the Sinaloa Cartel operating in the state of Nayarit. Benigno Ibarra Valle, age 30 and known as "el Guero Pelocho" was arrested late Tuesday night in the colonia Los Fresnos in Tepic, the capitol of the state of Nayarit, in an operation conducted by the Policia Nayarit anti-organized crime unit. Municipal and state police and military forces in Tepic are on maximum alert against reprisals for the capture of Ibarra. Los Pelochos had threatened the lives of the Policia Nayarit and its director, Assistant Attorney General Edgar Veytia, in banners hung over the weekend in Tepic. El Guero Pelocho is accused of masterminding the killing of 5 Policia Nayarit officers in recent weeks, including the execution of an officer Tuesday morning, and of ordering an unsuccessful assassination attempt on Edgar Veytia on December 14, 2011. Nine other suspects were arrested during the operation including el Guero Pelocho's brother, Jesús Ibarra Valle "El Aga”, age 40. Various weapons, vehicles and drugs were also secured during Tuesday night's operation.
