Kreayshawn: Internet sensation turned mainstream viral

Kreayshawn (krA-shawn) is an Internet sensation gone mainstream. This white female rapper out of Oakland, Cali. has been taking names like it's going out of style. The "Gucci Gucci" star has traces of core Internet styles on her sites and through these, she has embraced an entire generation of users, racked up over six million views on YouTube and jumped into Top 40 radio stations all over the country. @K2345h4wN is her, relatively, leetspeak (and sometimes impossible to remember) Twitter handle that has over 112,000 followers. She keeps things fresh on Twitter constantly talking to other users, retweeting her inspirations, giving thanks to fans all over the world and has 100 retweets on nearly everything she posts. She has a Ustream channel she hangs out on from time to time to give fans quick insights to the real Natassia Gail Zolot. Her website and Tumblr blog are filled with the awesomely tacky graphics of the early Myspace and Geocities, days like glitter trails for your cursor and purposefully pixilated artwork. As she posted there on Monday, this online "socialite" is finally seeing the Internet using her for inspiration. She still gets real with her blog and posts like an average person would at home pondering their day. The only difference is her daily pondering includes VMA nominations for "Best New Artist" and what to do for the new Red Hot Chili Peppers' video she directed. Not bad for only being 22 years old. The edge she created for herself using social media has propelled her into levels most artists can only dream of. It's not often a rapper breaks through a mold like she has, especially so quickly. Kreayshawn is a trendsetter in music, fashion, and the Internet and isn't going anywhere but up.
