Police swarm Iowa high school as active shooter

A shooting unfolded at Iowa’s Perry High School early Thursday, police have confirmed. Heavily armed law enforcement swarmed the school, about 40 miles from Des Moines, following reports of an active shooting situation just after 7:40 a.m. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office initially confirmed there was an active shooter probe at a campus shared by the middle and high school in the town of 8,000. The Perry Police Department later confirmed the shooting, but did not provide any additional information.
