Food will be up to 56% more expensive this Christmas

Of 26 products used for dinner this season, 14 had increases compared to last year; analysts believe that weather factors and higher spending are behind the increase. Food prices took the lead this season, with increases of 56% in the case of onions and poblano peppers, followed by carrots and green tomatoes, whose prices rose more than 50%, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).
