The Mallard family is going through a bit of a crisis. While dad, Mack, is happy to keep his family safe by swimming around their New England pond, mom, Pam, is eager to turn the tables and show her kids - teenager, Dax, and little duckling Gwen - the whole world. After a family of migrating ducks arrives at their pond with exciting stories of faraway places, Pam convinces Mack to embark on a family trip past New York City to tropical Jamaica. As the Mallards head south for the winter, their plans are quickly thwarted. The experience will inspire them to broaden their horizons, open up to new friends and accomplish more than they ever thought possible.
