Justice indicted Valentina Cancela's ex-boyfriend

The prosecutor Jorge Vaz charged Valentina Cancela's ex-boyfriend with femicide. The 17-year-old confessed to having murdered her and led the police to the place where he buried her body, on the beach of Punta del Este. According to the spokesman of the Public Prosecutor's Office, Javier Benech, the death was caused by asphyxiation. The young man was imprisoned in the National Institute of Adolescent Social Inclusion (Inisa), where a psychological approach will be made, said Benech. He also confirmed that the prosecutor will ask for the maximum sentence, which is ten years.
