Something crashed into the Moon creating a bright flash

In April 1972, astronaut Charles Moss Duke traveled to the Moon as part of the Apollo 16 mission. As he approached our satellite, the astronaut saw strange flashes on the surface. They looked like fireworks. But he was not the only one to witness this strange phenomenon. Most of the astronauts who traveled to the Moon talked about an unusual glow. And apparently, these "lunar flares" were also observed from Earth.
