Sea Lions and Dolphins Dying Because of Toxic Algae

Sea life is being threatened by a toxic algae bloom growing off the coast of California. Animal rescuers in SoCal say neurotoxins produced by the rapid growth of algae is causing the death of sea lions, seals, dolphins and more. Algal blooms do happen naturally, however the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association says human created pollution and climate change can cause “harmful algal blooms to occur more often.”
