Peru's president dissolves Congress and announces a "government of exception".

The President of Peru, Pedro Castillo, decreed on Wednesday the dissolution of the unicameral Congress and the establishment of a government of exception. In addition, the president decreed a night curfew throughout the country. The opposition calls the measure a constitutional rupture and a coup d'état.
