Pedro Castillo, President of Peru, was arrested

Peru is living its most uncertain hours in many years. Local media report that the president, Pedro Castillo, has been arrested hours after announcing the dissolution of the Congress this Wednesday. The president had also decreed a government of exception, the restructuring of the Judiciary and a night curfew. The measure has provoked the rejection of the different political forces, including the party that brought him to power, Peru Libre, for going against democracy.
