A team of cooks in Olocuilta, El Salvador, is claiming a new world record, having baked a giant pupusa measuring 5.5 meters across to mark the national dish’s national day. A thick corn-based tortilla filled with savory ingredients, the pupusa has its own celebration on the second Sunday of November. This year, according to local media outlet La Prensa Grafica, the people of Olocuilta decided to improve upon a previous recording-breaking pupusa with a 5.5-meter-wide dish.
