King Charles: Sarcastic answer he gave Lady Di when she asked him about intimacy revealed

The unhappy marriage of King Charles and Princess Diana was so "highly combustible" that royal protection officers were worried that someone was injured. One of "Charles'" valets recalls seeing Lady Di "mock her husband's obsession with a stretcher," Christopher Andersen wrote in the biography, "The King: The Life of Charles III," which Nov. 8. The valet watched as Diana "chased" her husband "down the corridors and room in room" at Prince Charles' retreat, Highgrove House. "Why don't you sleep with me?" Diana is said to have asked her husband, who "had called a halt to their intimate relationship," since the birth of Prince Harry in 1984, the real biographer said in his book. To which, according to the book, Charles sarcastically replied, "I don't know, dear. I think he might be gay. " "You'll never be king": Lady Di allegedly retorted to her husband During the heated argument, Charles demanded that she be given respect "which he felt her position deserved," according to the book. "Do you know who I am? He demanded of his wife. "Diana replied that he was a 'damned animal,'" Andersen writes in his book. "You will never be king!" she shouted. "William will pass to your mother. I will see to that. " Tension in the royal household only increased over time between the married couple. "The clashes between Diana and Charles were now so raw that 'violence seemed inevitable," a bodyguard says in the book. "The detectives in charge of protecting members of the royal family were deeply concerned that" in the heat of anger " either could be used to commit suicide, homicide or both," Andersen says in his book. The couple, who married in 1981, were miserable before their wedding. Charles reportedly felt pressure from his father, Prince Philip, to marry and was annoyed that Diana laughed during the proposal, later describing his reaction as "youthful and bewildering." Princess Diana, who was 12, soon realized that her fiancé was in love with his mistress, Camilla Parker-Bowles. "Consumed with anger and frustration, both bride and groom cried separately until they fell asleep the night before the wedding," Andersen says. The couple finally agreed to separate in 1992 and divorced in 1996. Just a year later, Diana tragically died in a car accident at the age of 36.
