CAPTURED SOMETHING UNEXPECTED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA

Renowned underwater photographer, Atsushi Sadaki, captured a huge school of sardines in the waters off Manado, Indonesia, in January 2022. As seen in Atsushi's video, a school of sardines swims in a dense formation that resembled a small tornado. In addition to the timing, Sadaki was struck by how brightly the group of sardines shimmered, reminding him of metal. "The sardines swim in a group, with amazing coordination and look like a lump of metal," were the photographer's words after recording this amazing phenomenon.
