Pemex pipeline explodes due to clandestine pipeline in Hidalgo

The incident occurred in the community of Loma del Progreso, in the municipality of Nopala de Villagrán; two trucks were burned. The explosion and fire of a clandestine outlet in a Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) pipeline left two pickup trucks burned, informed public security sources of the state of Hidalgo. The incident took place in the community of Loma del Progreso, in the municipality of Nopala de Villagrán. It was local residents who alerted of the incident, after the fire and the smoke from the fire were visible for several kilometers around. Public Security, National Guard and Mexican Army personnel arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area to avoid exposing the population. Subsequently, Pemex Physical Security personnel arrived and began work to control the incident. So far, the authorities do not rule out the possibility of injuries in the area, which will be known once the incident has been brought under control. The incident occurred just three years after the tragic January 18, 2019, in the community of San Primitivo, where 137 people died after the explosion of a Pemex pipeline, in the limits of the municipalities of Tlahuelilpan and Tlaxcoapan.
