Alexey Ivanov, 25, from Vologda, Russia, saw an avalanche occur at the foot of Mount Elbrus on December 21, 2021. Forced avalanches take place when the area is clear of people and can be completed safely, to prevent an avalanche from occurring when there are people in the area. Despite the controlled manner of the experience, Alexey admitted that it was still terrifying to witness the avalanche.
