Exquisitely preserved dinosaur egg reveals unknown evolutionary trait

Analysis of a fossilized dinosaur embryo remarkably preserved inside its egg shows a form of curling up that until now was thought to be exclusive to birds. This discovery, published in iScience together with the analysis of the fossil, proposes that this posture predated the first primitive bird species, and that it evolved from theropod dinosaurs in the Late Cretaceous, more than 65 million years ago, regardless of whether they were of the 'avian' type or not.
