Nicholas degrades to tropical storm heading for Houston Texas with heavy rains

Nicholas, now a Category 1 hurricane, made landfall early this morning on the eastern part of the Matagorda Peninsula in Texas, but quickly weakened to a tropical storm as it slowly moved north-northwestward.
