The family of this retired pilot welcomes you with a 'water greeting

The tradition for a retired veteran pilot is that on his last flight a couple of fire trucks perform the "Water Salute", a ceremonial greeting that consists of the pilot's plane passing under the two water arches. Johan Germishuys, 56 years old, with more than 39 years of experience as a pilot, could not receive his deserved greeting due to the ongoing pandemic. Determined to celebrate the well-deserved retirement of his father, his son, Wihan Germishuys, 22, and the rest of the family made their own version of the water greeting in the garden of their home in Pretoria, South Africa.
