Mysterious benefactor distributes money in Spanish town
The residents of a small Spanish town are stunned: for a week, an anonymous benefactor has been leaving envelopes with money in the mailboxes or under the door of the houses. According to Mayor Nuria Simón, since last Wednesday, about 15 inhabitants of the town of Villarramiel, in the Castilian province of Palencia, have received envelopes with 50, 70 or 100 euros. The addressees, added the councilor of this town of 800 inhabitants, are very diverse: elderly couples, others younger, a widow with a child, among others. "We are perplexed and expectant. We do not know where this money can come from, or who the benefactor is or his intention, "said Nuria Simón. The beneficiaries found the tickets in a brown envelope. Others, in addition to cash, received messages with names, addresses or even phrases such as "the princess of the home". At the request of the residents of the town of Villarramiel, banking institutions and personnel of the Spanish Civil Guard corroborated that the money left is authentic, but, to date, it is unknown who owns it.
