The Mexican Vanessa Ponce de León is crowned as Miss World 2018

Vanessa Ponce de León took the crown of the 68th Miss World that was held in Sanya, China. The model and student of commerce was profiled as one of the favorites since the start of the contest in which there were 30 participants, but only 12 were finalists, including two Latinas: Miss Panama and Miss Mexico. Ponce de León won the sympathy of the judges by presenting a social responsibility project with which he seeks to support families of indigenous migrants. "The project I'm taking to Miss World is called Na Vali, it's a project for the children of indigenous migrant day laborers who leave Guerrero and Guanajuato, many children travel with their parents," he told the media. It is the first time that a Mexican is crowned as winner in Miss World, while Venezuela and India are the countries with the highest number of winners in history with six titles each.
