Baja California: The Pacific Coast of Mexico (1949)

cinematographic piece of high historical and cultural value, given the scarcity of material filmed in BCS in past eras. The educational film was rescued and restored by the Academic Film Archive of North America, the Foundation for the Castilian Family, an association of Santa Clara County, California, dedicated to promoting Latino arts and culture. The subtitles are authored by Saul Tuchmann (2016). On the page of the compiled film file it reads: "[Silas] Johnson [producer of the film] is another lost filmmaker, who worked in Coronado, Calif. This film has beautiful color images of the old Baja, before the seasons of Pemex cover the Quota and Free Hunt travels from Ensenada to Cabo San Lucas, stopping enchantingly in the town without water of Magdalena Bay, Tortuga Bay and the vineyards in Santo Tomás, sponsored by the Castellano Family Foundation ". Cinema is also heritage, memory and culture.
