Mayor orders to erase chapel mural of Virgin of Guadalupe in NJ

From one moment to another, workers from the municipality of Passaic covered the mural, composed of three sections and different Mexican artists, with gray paint as part of the efforts of the mayor of Passaic, Hector Lora, to disappear the Guadalupe cult of the place . That way, the Chapel of the Virgin of Guadalupe begins to be dismantled 12 days from the deadline set by Mayor Lora to end the place. The deadline expires on August 15. "I can only tell you that as soon as the mural was erased there was a storm and hail fell, which never falls during this time," said Andres Torre, a native of Mexico City. Torres was angered by what he considered nonsense "while the Hope Street tunnel is abandoned and in need of a coat of paint, they have money to waste on erasing the mural."
