Discover giant spider species in Mexico

Researchers at the National Museum of Natural History in San Diego, California, found a new species of spider in a cave in Baja California Sur, Mexico, which could be part of a nightmare because of its size and physical characteristics. The spider has eight eyes, its legs can measure up to 10 centimeters long and, when stretched, can reach the size of a plate, has brown head and legs and abdomen is opaque yellow. Under rows of black eyes, it has thick hairy claws that can produce poisonous stings. For the museum's investigators, it was a big surprise, as the unknown arachnid is as wide as a softball.
