Ivanka Trump will have her own office in the White House
Ivanka Trump, the eldest daughter of US President Donald Trump, will have her own office in the West Wing of the White House, her lawyer said Monday. Ivanka, who as a "first daughter" has had a frequent and atypical role in the White House since her father took office, will increase her influence in the presidential circle. In Washington it is usual to see the daughter of the president accompanying his father in official events and also in meetings with international leaders. Ivanka, in fact, sat down next Friday with German Chancellor Angela Merkel during her meeting at the White House, a position she also held in February on the visit of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. According to her lawyer, Jamie Gorelick, citing local media, Ivanka Trump will not hold an official position in the White House and will not receive any salary for her new job. Trump's daughter will be joined in the White House West Wing by her husband, Jared Kushner, who works as an advisor to the president and is a regular at the Oval Office. Ivanka is the only one of Trump's children who moved from New York to Washington with her father, although at that time she denied any interest in working in the White House.
