Cities where #Trump wants to increase deportations.

The US government will temporarily move judges to cities where there are high concentrations of undocumented people with criminal records, according to the Reuters news agency. The US Department of Justice is developing plans to temporarily relocate immigration judges to 12 cities across the country, according to two government officials. The aim of the movements is to encourage the deportations of undocumented immigrants who have been accused of committing crimes. Among the 12 targeted cities are New York, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, San Francisco, Baltimore, El Paso and Phoenix. These cities were chosen because they have a large population of undocumented immigrants with criminal charges, the sources said. The state of Nebraska is also listed. The Department began to request volunteers for the transfers, although it is not yet clear how many judges will be reassigned or where they will be sent. A spokesman for the Justice Department's office, which administers the immigration courts, confirmed that cities were chosen as potential destinations for reassignment of judges, but gave no further details about the plan. The intensification of deportations is in line with President Donald Trump's campaign pledges. The Department of Homeland Security was the one who asked for the reassignment of judges, something unusual because it does not administer the courts. An executive order signed by Trump in January left immigrants with outstanding criminal cases as a priority for deportation, regardless of whether they were found guilty or not. This is a change of stance regarding the mandate of Barack Obama, which prioritized the deportations of those convicted of serious crimes.
