6.5 degrees earthquake shakes Philippines

The US Geological Survey (USGS) has reported a 6.5 magnitude quake occurred about 69 km deep near Mindanao, the second largest island of the Philippines. At the moment there is no tsunami warning. The area encompassing the islands of the Philippines is considered as one of the most exposed to natural disasters around the world. Philippines and Indonesia, the two largest archipelagos of the Earth, are one of the strongest seismic zones of the planet: the Pacific Ring of Fire. Also in this area 90% of all known volcanoes on Earth is located.
